Waleed Shafiqullah is an investor and fund manager. Following an international banking career spanning 20 years, he left HSBC in 2020 to start an impact fund in Singapore focused on sustainable textiles. As founder and managing partner of Presstar Capital he has been active in pre-seed to Series A financing of sustainable textile technologies and production facilities. In mid-2021 he founded PayPlus, a fintech investment fund with operating companies in payment services. PayPlus has subsequently invested in cybersecurity, gaming, enterprise security and authentication under the Cyberplus brand. He is also an early-stage investor in EZWage which is an Earned Wage Access (EWA) startup with footprint in Bangladesh and Pakistan and growth aspirations in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Waleed is also the controlling shareholder in Security Leasing Corporation in Pakistan, which is a non-bank finance company (NBFC) currently being restructured from a legacy leasing company into an asset financing platform. He is also a co-owner of Hello Nash in Malaysia, which is a disruptive digital marketing firm.
Prior to leaving HSBC to start Presstar, he was the Change & Implementation Lead for Asia Pacific in HSBC’s global Oracle Fusion programme, which was at the time the largest cloud-based-ERP programme worldwide in the financial services industry, with over 120,000 users within the bank using Oracle Fusion.
Mr. Shafiqullah has extensive experience in portfolio acquisition and retail banking credit, from scoring and underwriting, through to origination and collections. Until 2018, he was Head of Global Service Centres for HSBC’s Global Collections Operations based in Manila. In this role, he managed HSBC’s collections operations in shared service centres in China, Egypt, India, Malaysia and the Philippines with over 1,300 personnel and a US$ 32 billion portfolio value.
He held various senior positions within HSBC including Head of Transformation for HSBC Bank China, based in Shanghai, and Head of Consumer Finance for Saudi British Bank (SABB), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Prior to joining HSBC in 2002, Mr. Shafiqullah was a management consultant within the strategy consulting practice at Accenture in Chicago, USA. He holds an M.B.A. in Accounting & Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Political Science from Oberlin College, Ohio. He is also fluent in Mandarin, Urdu, Bengali and is currently learning Bahasa Malay. He divides his time between Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.
Subir is an active investor in startups and sits on numerous advisory boards. He was recently appointed as a partner at Antler Indonesia, overseeing growth and operations in the Indonesian market. Concurrently, he is the Chief Business Officer of Digi Asia, a B2B fintech player in Indonesia. He started his career in investment banking focusing on debt capital markets across South and Southeast Asia, and has executed benchmark transactions across high yield, corporate, acquisition financing, and sovereign financing. He also led Carmudi’s expansion across Asia as the Managing Director of Carmudi, one of the fastest-growing car classifieds that have seen enormous success under his leadership.
Andrew is the Managing Director of Cyberplus, bringing over 20 years of sales, management, customer engagement, services delivery, leadership, strategy, business development, and operations from major Technology, Telecom Operators, and organizations in the Asia Pacific region. Previously with Nexign as Vice President where he built and headed the Asian Sales team in Singapore. He successfully sold into and managed large-scale clients and played pivotal roles in the identification, feasibility analysis, and negotiations. Before this, he also held several other regional senior-level responsibilities within the Technology and Telecoms industry. He led several business and sales opportunities in Melbourne, Thailand, Malaysia, and other Asian countries.
Prakshal is the Senior Director of Product Management for Cyberplus, where he oversees and manages the product roadmap to meet deliverables for the business. Before this role, Prakshal led TimeweTech’s APAC operations as Country Manager where he built & managed a multimillion-dollar P&L. He strategically expanded the Company’s footprint in Asia and managed various teams across the globe. He has also worked for IMImobile for sales, marketing, and operations roles.
Haresh is currently the Business Development Director for Cyberplus. He is responsible for driving new business, focusing on new and existing opportunities in Malaysia and Indonesia. Haresh started his career with Citibank Malaysia and prior to joining Cyberplus, he was the Managing Director for Neuhealth Group of Clinics and the Managing Director of QHC Medical Center in Malaysia. Haresh brings with him more than 20 years of experience in driving sales growth, lean management, customer engagement, leadership, corporate strategy, business development and analytical skills.
Having over 20 years experiences with focus on the IT/Telecom business with the aspiration in senior pre-sales and business development management positions with flexibility to take on other functions locally and regionally like account management and project management. Worked for leading multi-national companies (NSN, IBM, Nissho Electronics, HGC Global Communications, etc…) with spanning diverse job-roles, engineering, bid management, business development, solution management, presales, product strategy & partner management
As a Senior Manager (Product Management & Sales Operation), Tarique is responsible for market research, product management & development for product introduction and developing marketing strategies. Coordinating sales operations with our sales partners, reporting and invoicing. Taking care of overall sales operation. Prior to Cyberplus, he held pivotal roles in banking, financial services & ecommerce supply chain industry, in companies such as HDFC Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Snapdeal & Pine Labs in India & UAE. Tarique has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IIPM Delhi and a Bachelor’s degree from Hindu College, Delhi university.
Kai brings over 20 years of experience in administration, recruitment, sales, and marketing. She is currently the Office Manager for Cyberplus, where she supports the company’s senior executives in all aspects of internal and external communications, supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the company. Prior to Cyberplus, she joined the executive search industry for over a decade and significantly contributed to making strategic hires through sourcing and appointing candidates across the Investment Banking, Private Equity, Technology, and Commerce industries. Presently based in Manila, Kai graduated from Colegio De San Juan de Letran with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
Mimi is the current Finance and Admin Consultant for Cyberplus. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry centering on sales, finance/audit, broadband operations and project management.
